Cultural appropriation, cultural smoppropriation – I’ve had this dashiki for years. It’s not my fault its on-trend. Oh – it’s a culotte jumpsuit too!
Disclaimer: I had this staff in my car, because I let a coworker borrow it for cos-play.

It’s like people come up with a term for anything they disagree with. You look great!!! I feel you I liked and owned African print items before it was on trend. You like what you like.

Right! It’s so selective what society chooses to criticize. When we are expected to conform to western society and beauty standards, it’s nothing. When any non-western cultural standards are implemented, it’s a big deal.

I think we get on both ends we get talked about for wearing blonde hair and then on the flip side we get criticized for being too African. You can’t win.
