There’s so much going on in the world today, from disgraceful politics to natural disasters. So I wanted to escape my day-to-day grind and get somewhere that I was unreachable.
Somewhere totally relaxing. No phones, no nightlife, just relaxing and quality time.
Airbnb came though for the win. A working farm tucked away in rural Alabama provided the perfect opportunity to get some cooking done, while I got caught up on Game of Thrones – totally unbothered.
Caught up? I know… I’m just getting started… sigh. Oh – and, I’m loving it of course.
Anyway, this gem was sitting right on the green acres of a third generation family farm. I woke up to views of horses, herons and other beautiful, country sights and sounds that I could experience from the front porch. Good vibes, man.
After having my complimentary breakfast from the bar, I enjoyed movies in the home theater.
The weather was too mild to enjoy the pool but that’s okay – there were plenty of games and nooks to relax in throughout the farm house.
Did I mention how nice it was to just relax and catch up on rest and have some traditional fun? Less screentime, more living.
I mean, I was literally able to take my hair down and let my soul glow. Luxuriating in trips to local eateries and WalMart was a big and welcomed change from city living.
Remember, you don’t have to go on a beach vacation, or to Cuba, or reach for the depths of the earth to enjoy some time off the grid. Personally, I would love to go to the mountains this fall. Take some freshwater showers and replenish my soul.
I’ve also been curious about staying with a host family overseas. Somebody who can share their culture and traditions with me.
So be sure to check back to see where #FinesseTravels next.
… By the way, the earrings are from Baublebar and my top is from City Chic Online. The drama of this top was a nice contrast to the country, scene. Don’t you agree?
