Being comfortable and fabulous in New York was quite the challenge! All the walking and sticky train rides were definitely cramping my style. I had to opt for my comfy MeToo kitten heels, rather than my purple stripper pumps – bummer.
I was thrilled to rock my ASOS CURVE Exclusive Shift Dress In Cage Mesh, which was perfectly breezy in the humid weather! My ONLY complaint is that the slip was not attached to the dress, and it was hanging below the mesh part of the dress (hemline), which was a bit sloppy-looking, but apparently it did not “look too bad,” according to a few friends and all the bloggers at the event. (They were only trying to be nice – bless their hearts.) While I wish the slip was even with the mesh, if it were, then the dress may have been a little hoochie, right? Luckily, because of my shape, this worked for me; however, I do not know if I could recommend this for those who are pear shaped or not – I guess it would depend on her height. I believe this dress would also be darling with tights, and could be transitioned into a winter dress.
I paired this dress with some chunky midi-rings from H&M and a quilted, black and gold clutch.
Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week was a blast! I had a ball bumping elbows with some of my favorite plus size bloggers including Sarah of Curvily, Chastity of Garner Style, Allie of Inside Allie’s World, Alissa from Stylish Curves, Meg from Little Lime Dress and Cece from Plus Size Princess at the SimplyBe event.
